About the ArtistFor
Lynn Whiteley there has never been a time were he has not used his artistic abilities.
He received his bachelors of fine art in 1989 at Oklahoma Baptist University and
went on to live in the Washington DC area shortly after. His journey as a professional
artist has included painting murals for churches, sign, desktop and web design
as well as stained glass artistry for the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage,
Missouri. Prior to founding Whiteley Design Studio, he trained under Faux
Artist Martin Allen Hirsch at the Decorative
Finishes Studio. There he was trained using Faux Effects products. He constantly
keeps his skill level up by continuous study under such masters as Kelly S. King,
Gary Lord, Nicola Vigini, Melanie Royals as well as Mike MacNeil and Pierre Finkelstein.
Lynn has also been trained in the ancestral techniques of Venetian Plasters
at the School of Italian Plasters
in Atlanta Georgia. The studio is proud to use Arte`nova ® line of Venetian
plasters. Arte`nova® is the decorative department of Safra products from Verona
Italy. Some of their techniques date back thousands of years. The art of Italian
Plaster application has intrigued Lynn ever since laying eyes on the beautiful
finishes in Europe. He just recently got back from an inspirational trip to Europe
and plans on continuing his studies in Italy next year. Lynn's artistic
abilities and strong workethic have served him well in turning ordinary walls
into extraordinary masterpieces. He recently transformed the master bedroom under
commission of Mastercraft Interiors LTD. of the 2005 Decorators' Show House. Let
him create a retreat for you that you enjoy coming home to.
